Abstract
In the previous chapter, I argued that a natural kind in a domain is (a) part of a taxonomy that allows enquiry in the domain to achieve inductive and explanatory success, (b) such that success would not be attained with a taxonomy that excludes the kind. I call these criteria the success clause and restriction clause, respectively.
