Abstract
While numerous studies have been devoted to the relation between religion and politics in Iranian history generally,1 less has been written about the relation between Islam, nationalism and minorities in post-revolutionary Iran specifically. Any such study has to start with the founder of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Khomeini.
