Abstract
Throughout this study, I have explored how the new economic and performance rationalities have reframed the publicity of state information during the last decade and what institutional transformations we can detect. The understanding in this analysis is that the essential innovation that transparency brings to the conceptualization of governance is that public acts of governing can indeed be economically efficient. Though a very broad idea, this is most apparent in new attempts at providing standardized information on government, even to the extent that it can be expressed in figures.
