Abstract
The previous chapter identified sources of continuity and change in the economic policy record, or the state-market relationship, of Néstor Kirchner. This was so as to form the analytical basis for this chapter, which will examine the implications of these sources of continuity and change with regard to Argentine political economy. It is the contention of this chapter that in the years 2003–7 there was a Kirchnerismo present in Argentina, and this Kirchnerismo possesses a number of characteristics that represent departures from previous forms of political economy in Argentina. This chapter will also seek to place Kirchnerismo within a suitable analytical and theoretical framework in order to generate an understanding of this development experience that could be transposed across space and time. Therefore, this chapter will also seek to locate Kirchnerismo within the Developmental Regimes literature as articulated in Chapter 3.
