Abstract

According to my guiding methodological approach, the nature of warrant by reasoning should be investigated via considerations about the nature of reasoning itself. In Chapter II , some, but far from all, basic competencies associated with reasoning were discussed. In this chapter, I approach the nature of reasoning from another angle, namely, by considering the nature of the mental states which enter into reasoning.
