Abstract
In Tanzania, over 90 per cent of rural women are active in agriculture: they constitute over 57 per cent of the agricultural labour force and produce more than 60 per cent of domestic food. Agriculture contributes over 26.7 per cent of the GDP and accounts for about 60 per cent of the country’s foreign earnings.
