Abstract
Over the last thirty years or so a number of issues have arisen in the contemporary epistemology literature which have been of special significance to the religious epistemologist. The dispute between internalists and externalists has motivated a variety of approaches to the rational grounding of religious beliefs.1 The literature on disagreement has yielded insight into the epistemic significance of religious pluralism.2 Furthermore, discussions of the nature and role of defeaters have been fruitfully applied to discussions of the evidential problem of evil and religious epistemology proper.
