Neo-Gramscian Hegemony and the International Order

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: International Political Economy Series ((IPES))

Abstract

This chapter was originally published in 1991. The reason for reprinting the original text is not, of course, that it is incapable of improvement but rather that as the first serious engagement with neo-Gramscian theory the piece has a certain cogency and is of interest as it stands. In terms of the further development of the Open Marxist alternative to neo-Gramscian theory, the reader is directed to chapters 4, 6, 8, 10 and 11 in this volume by Peter Burnham and Werner Bonefeld.
