Abstract
Over the years most political parties have radically changed their manifestos. As such they have forsaken ideology for pragmatism. They “listen” to what people want and what troubles them and promise to deliver all/most/ some of those needs. The rhetoric of the grand “isms”, like capitalism, socialism, communism, even Thatcherism seems to have been dropped in favor of some more simple exhortations.
Manifesto: Public declaration of intentions, motives or views.
