Abstract

In what I propose, then, to say about interpretation and definition, I see rhetoric as the overarching art embedded in all studies of language use and usage. I see it as fundamentally tied to all the arts of making, creating, and using meaning. I see it as an art used for all sorts of different practical purposes in studying communications, especially for dealing with those issues being analyzed and studied by what I have referred to in my preface as litde rhetoric.
