Abstract

Thus far, I have considered several specific cult locations where I proposed a divine birth priestesshood may have existed at some point in ancient Greece, among them Athens, Delos, Mt. Parthenion, Samos, and Argos. I now turn my attention to one of the two other major locations where myth and cult suggest such a priestesshood similarly may have dwelt: the oracular site of Dodona.
