Abstract

Figure 6.1 presents a bar graph for each of the 58 clusters for each of the three societies organized by dimension. The high degree of agreement between societies is visually apparent. (This same agreement can be seen in more detail in the appendix) The mean r for the intercorrelation of the three societies for the clusters on the individualism versus collectivism dimension is 0.52. For the clusters on the altruism versus self-interest dimension the mean r is 0.79. For the clusters on the industry versus relaxation dimension the mean r = 0.89. The Vietnamese display the greatest value differences but only for the collectivism versus individualism differences. For the other two dimensions the three societies show a mean intercorrelation of 0.84.
