Abstract
Even though there are moments of overlap, modesty practices and the issue of head covering, which have significance in both traditions, are treated differently in Christianity and Islam. They also have different forms of expression in the diverse faith communities which make up these two major religions. This chapter is in two sections: the first concentrates on Islamic revivalist practices in relation to segregation and veiling, and the second on Christian revivalist practices in relation to dress and decorum.
