The Spirit of Japan’s Political Economy

  • Kyoko Sheridan

Abstract

In this chapter I examine the professional and personal profiles of several public administrative officers working in the Ministry (formerly MITI and since 2002 METI) between 1994 and 2005. I examine their professional work in promoting economic welfare and their individual attempts to solve problems, and the difficulties they encountered while doing so.
