Abstract
As the dust settles from the 2008 Olympics, with Chinese athletes collecting numerous medals, the basic question re-emerges of what medals China is set to collect in the international system for the coming century? Such game metaphors can be pursued with vigour. A new ‘Great Game’ for one?
