Abstract

In the United Kingdom a picture editor on a national newspaper may well see over two thousand images a day and yet probably only use thirty or so. Your photograph has to be very good to get into a national newspaper. However, there are now thousands of magazines and local newspapers as well as online media all desperate for content, particularly visual content. As the old saying goes “a picture’s worth a thousand words,” so it is well worth making the effort to create a great photograph or image. Here are our top ten tips.
