Abstract

In the previous chapter, the idea of an only-child archetype was introduced which is built on the idea of an only-child matrix of meaning that emerged from the life-stories found throughout this book. In Chapter 4, the construct of voice was used to identify an intra-, inter- and extra-dimension of only-child characteristics. Continuing this theme, a matrix of these three strands of intra-, inter- and extra-psychic offers a three-dimensional understanding of the way these three interact within the only-child personality (see Figure 1: The Only-Child Matrix).
