Abstract
Both Ivy and Yukinori have had an opportunity to leave their own culture and live in and observe another. I think this has given them a unique standpoint to reflect on their experiences of growing up as an only-child. They have been able to step outside and reassess their own experience in a way which would not have been possible from home. In my experience, living in a different culture offers a whole new perspective. It allows one to look anew at those things you previously took for granted in your own homeland.
