Abstract
The financial crises of the 1990s, with their associated concerns about contagion, have led to discussion on a framework for building a new international financial architecture. While this discussion has been taking place in many forums on a variety of issues, a major focus has been on the initiative to create a framework of international financial standards and codes (S&Cs).
