Summary
I was encouraged by the work of Skehan (1998) to examine how task characteristics can be used to predict where students may focus their attention during a task. I felt that by developing a better understanding of task characteristics, I would be more able to make informed decisions about how best to achieve a balanced development of fluency, accuracy, and complexity.
