Training Young Learners in Meaning Negotiation Skills: Does it Help?

Summary

In this study I examine the effectiveness of training young learners in meaning negotiation skills. The learners, who were pupils in an English as a foreign language class at a primary school in Korea, showed signs of improved ability to negotiate meaning after training, and were better able to perform speaking tasks.
