Abstract

Chapter 3 identified the following issues arising from a discussion of the management of classroom time and space:

  • the extent to which the chronological boundaries of education conflict with ‘natural learning rhythms’;

  • the influence of spatial arrangements on classroom life, and individual and collective responses to the arrangement of classroom space;

  • the effects of continuing with formal learning activity outside the classroom — at home, online and in the community.
