Abstract

This chapter explores young homeless people’s ‘public lives’. It begins by examining their experience of school and their transition into the labour market which involved, for almost all of these young people, contact with the benefits system. The remainder of the chapter reviews their experience of public services, concentrating on housing and social work agencies.
