Abstract

This chapter reviews central government policies on youth homelessness, and details the current statutory responsibilities for dealing with the most pressing needs of young homeless people, which are mainly to be found at local government level. It also explains the role of the voluntary sector in tackling youth homelessness, and introduces the main types of provision currently being used to accommodate young homeless people.1
