Abstract
In peer consultation, a professional with a work-related issue can be helped to decide on a course of action in relation to the issue raised. As issues contributed to a consultation group can range from problems, questions, and specific difficult situations to more general topics, ‘issue’ is used here as an umbrella term. The professional contributing an issue is referred to as the issue holder — the professional who will hold the issue for that session. The issue holder can be viewed as a client with respect to the rest of the group, including consultants and a facilitator.
