Abstract
The clash of cultures is a central issue in any bank merger. From whatever background they come, each bank has its own set of values, of ‘how we do things around here’ and of what behaviour gets rewarded or punished. Addressing this ‘soft’ issue is a major leadership challenge whose success can only be evaluated over years, if not decades.
