Abstract

There was more about school education in The Rise of the Meritocracy than there was about university education, although the relationship between the two was recognised as crucial. So also was the relationship between educational change and social change, and there was plenty about that. There was a higher education department in ACE, which organised a summer school in Brighton, and an enquiry was launched into university entrance
