Abstract
The relative success of China’s economic reform is inseparable from the fact that over the past two decades the Chinese state has been dominated by a group of determined reformers. Their mistakes and even blunders notwithstanding, the reformers have demonstrated qualities indispensable for a strong reform leadership, notably, vision, dedication and pragmatism.
