Abstract
Franco’s need for arms during the critical battle of the Ebro in Autumn 1938 forced him to accept German conditions. When he asked for more material, the Germans presented a bill, asking at least for acknow-ledgement of their claims. Expenditure up till 31 October 1938 for the Condor Legion alone was 190 million Reichsmarks.
