Abstract

‘In-group ritual’ is a category which reflects a specific, relational understanding of ritual actions. In order to analyse the properties of in-group rituals (topic of Chapter 3) and integrate them into a typology (see Chapter 4), we need first to position ritual practices per se from the relational perspective proposed in this book.
