Abstract

International reconciliation is best accomplished when all of three levels are pursued as discussed in the previous chapter. However, the reality shows this is not always the case. Multiple variables affect the process as well as the outcome of reconciliation. In consequence, every single case is distinctive in that engaging actors, domestic situation as well as international environment vary. Nonetheless, they share commonalities as they aim at building a lasting peace relationship with erstwhile enemies. Bearing in mind the complexities of reconciliation, this chapter proposes a typology of international reconciliations for two major reasons.
