Abstract

What is sexuality? How can it be studied? This book sets out to answer these questions within the limited space available. Rather than investigate sexuality in depth from one point of view — for example, psychologically, historically or sociologically — I have chosen to take a bird’s-eye view of a number of approaches. This has the disadvantage of treating each area rather superficially, but it has the advantage of permitting comparisons and links to be made between a variety of standpoints.
