Abstract

We come now to the central question of our study: How does the joy of faith compare to the joy of Zarathustra’s acceptance? Our question, of course, relates to the joy of faith as faith is presented in Fear and Trembling, and it relates to Zarathustra’s acceptance of life, and its eternal recurrence, as his acceptance is presented in Thus Spoke Zarathustra. More nicely expressed, our question is: How does the joy of the knight of faith compare to the joy of Zarathustra’s acceptance of life/eternity?
