Abstract

Recently many articles and a few books have been devoted to the history of creation of the Soviet atom bomb. Most, however, have not been able to rely on original documents.1 A rare exception from this point of view was a collection of articles by original participants in the Soviet ‘uranium project’ entitled ‘The Creation of the First Soviet Nuclear Bomb’, published by Energoatomizdat in Moscow in 1995.2
