Abstract

In this chapter we introduce the corollary of our conceptual framework: a proposal for a suitable frame of analysis of present-day European capitalist welfare societies. The role of the European Union (EU) and of national states for capitalist welfare societies’ developments will also be presented. The following chapters take an empirical look at the positioning of women and migrants in European countries in the context of our conceptual framework.
