Abstract

The conflicts and confrontations which appear to be a permanent feature of the 1990s seem to cry out for a leader who can knit the polarized factions together. The objective of this book is to examine the behaviour of successful leaders to provide insight on how they resolved such conflicts. The innocent observer of this trauma thus finds himself facing the age-old issues: what can a single individual do in the face of such strongly held opposed views? Are these nations bereft of leadership, or have their leaders tried and failed against insuperable odds?
