Abstract

There is no doubt that a final solution (if there is one) for the Arab-Israeli conflict, which has dominated much of the general discussion about Middle Eastern developments over the past fifty years will shift the perception of political risk of the area, but will not be able to eliminate all of the factors of conflict and instability militating in favour of the region’s continuous political volatility. By elucidating the main elements of instability and conflict, we hope the present book has drawn sufficient attention to these important issues which may not be so eye-catching or newsworthy.
