Abstract

The issue for this chapter is whether or not people have an adequate diet. Whilst the ‘end result’ is nutritional adequacy, the chapter is more broadly concerned with food (in)security. Hence, we consider data on domestic food production, food availability both geographically and over the season, and finally the impact upon households’ food security.
