Abstract

The purpose of this chapter is to develop a framework for the study of refugees in Western Europe. It is a complex proposition as, despite the seemingly well-circumscribed character of the project, namely refugees in Western Europe, the nature of the social phenomenon under study requires that one draws from several broad domains of social and political science.
