Abstract
Languages in multi-racial societies are rich in words that describe the skin colours of people and their alleged spiritual, moral, material and physical qualities. The naming system — its nomenclature — reflects their ranking order and interrelations. They were mentioned in earlier chapters and are repeated briefly for the sake of continuity.
