Abstract

This chapter sets out to highlight some basic yet important themes which sustain the Catholic outlook and through interviews with a number of Catholic clergy draw out thoughts and perceptions which underpin how those themes are understood and how that understanding influences action. So far, this study has concentrated on diversities and similarities that exist in Protestantism and considered both in relation to the possibilities of working towards peace and stability in Northern Ireland. This discussion now moves towards engagement with the Catholic community in an attempt to establish a comparative analysis of how Catholics perceive these problems and how the Catholic imagination envisages dealing with the emergent issues and concerns that such problems create.
