Abstract
The first part of this case deals with Murray Palevsky’s challenge over an element of group-coaching protocol, the follow-up conference call, and the decision of one group member not to participate. The second part describes the coach’s feelings and attitude toward the coachee and the feedback the coach received while participating in the 1st ESMT Coaching Colloquium in December 2009. The coach shares the feedback from this conference and reflects on how his coaching style was improved by the process. The case highlights what was initially “tricky coaching” and what was tricky in terms of gaining insight into one’s performance.
