The term work-life balance has been a helpful piece of shorthand for a few decades now, but because the nature of work has changed so much, it’s becoming redundant. The reason is for many workers, they can no longer segregate either their time or activities into two separate boxes, one with ‘work’ written on, the other with ‘life’.
