Abstract
That the Chairman of the board of directors of a company that produces numerous different brands of bottled water is concerned about water supply is probably not particularly surprising. On the other hand, given that he is likely to know better than most of us the challenges of getting sufficient volumes of quality drinking water into bottles around the world, he is perhaps worth listening to when he says that water is “by far the most valuable resource on this planet.”
“The water crisis that seems possible within the next 10 to 20 years will quite probably trigger significant shortfalls in cereal production and, as a result, a massive global food crisis.”
Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, Chairman of Nestlé1
