Abstract

As previously stated, ‘managerial capitalism ‘, based on the large public company , dominated the economic scene from the 1930s to the end of the 1960s. This model of capitalism has been studied analytically and regularly revised. The discussion is still open and no definitive conclusions have been reached; however it would seem reasonable to maintain that managerial capitalism has marked a period of considerable economic expansion, of satisfactory profitability for enterprises, of growth in employment and real wages and of improvement in working conditions.
