Abstract

When attempting to fully understand loyalism and its journey since the GFA it is first necessary to take a step back and observe the transition since the loyalist ceasefire in 1994. This has been a journey of incremental change based on a new paradigm, which developed within loyalist thinking long before the ceasefire. I speak in particular with reference to the UVF because that is the organization I have engaged with throughout the peace process.
