Abstract
Thanks to an almost perfect convergence of factors, Germany is arguably the number one green technology country in the world. The government, keen to push a green economic miracle, introduced a long-term and comprehensive policy framework long before the United States and other nations decided to usher in their new green deals. As a result, the country’s renewable energy sector has been characterized by steady growth rates over the past decades, with a significant increase in capital investment across various green technologies. Germany’s strength in engineering and science, and world-class research centers, translate into rapid innovations in green technologies.
