Joyful moments

Abstract

Joyful moments are to be treasured. They might be moments that are instantaneous and unexpected. They might be moments of celebration or success after a long period of hard work. Joyful moments can be ecstatic, or they can be quiet times of inner satisfaction. So often we feel that joyful moments are transitory and we rush on to the next thing without fully enjoying moments of pure joy. Joy cannot be turned on like a tap, but we can create situations which either encourage joy or limit its likelihood. We can be joy’s best friend or its biggest skeptic. I want to encourage you to see moments of joy not as indulgence or as escapism but as times of special significance which are to be treasured, remembered and repeated.
