Abstract
In the descriptions of everyday events of individual lives in this book, the technological materiality of the contemporary world is prominent. Yet the technological material is so embedded in the relationality of social life, absorbed into the interstices of ordinary doing and getting about, that its full significance goes unnoticed. To see the marks of technologies on relationships, the ways in which our relationships with these materials are vital to us, the book considered the personal, the relational and the material in everyday life in terms of broader and long-standing social issues. Grand sociological questions and ordinary living/lives were brought together theoretically and empirically.
