Policy and Institutional Reform and Entrepreneurship in Developing Countries

  • Chapter
Book cover Entrepreneurship and Economic Development

Part of the book series: Studies in Development Economics and Policy ((SDEP))

Abstract

Development economists acknowledge the role of institutional and policy reform on economic growth and development (see for example, Acemoglu et al. 2001, 2002, 2003; Baliamoune-Lutz 2009; Baliamoune-Lutz and Ndikumana 2007; Rodrik et al. 2004). Since these are expected to affect investment decisions and occupational choice, we could expect them to have an impact on entrepreneurship.
